Training for multipliers in Forum Theatre Method

Background, themes and the needs that the project is tackling
In Europe of present times is facing different phenomena: High level of migrations; Economical crises and high levels of unemployment and criminality among young people; Political dominance around Europe of Right and growing of extreme rights groups influence; Difficulties in integration of different (ethnic, religious) minorities groups associated with discrimination, marginalization, xenophobia, violence, etc; High levels of violence towards women or domestic violence; Corruption (specially in East and South East Europe) High level of social apathy of young people- express as a general feeling of indifference towards some of the problems mention before; The constant need of civil society from Europe to acquire new methods in dealing with these social topics- Acquiring alternative and effective instruments for dealing with these issues is necessary and represents a priority for youth workers.
The main goal of the training "Take Artitude! Be the change you want to see in the world." is to increase the capacity of youth workers to encourage participation and involvement of young people in social processes;
More specific Objectives of the project are:
Ø To develop and improve participants' skills in non-formal education; social and training skills (communication, leadership and presentation skills, etc.), which are necessary to gain to continue as multipliers of Forum Theatre;
Ø To analyze and describe the aim, role and advantages of the Forum Theatre method;
Ø To apply the working method of Forum Theatre in the participants local/regional/national/international projects;
Ø To create strategies for dealing with team members, and all the process that a Forum Theatre project implies;
Ø To increase active participation of the participants in social processes and change their attitudes;
Ø To develop facilitation and mediation skills;
Ø To find out similarities and differences in social problems that countries/communities are facing on their way to social inclusion, as well as similarities and differences in methods and approaches used to resolve conflicts and problems.
The target group are youth workers and the training course is meant to develop their skills in social theatre, becoming forum theatre multipliers in their organization.
